E-Kavach - Digital Parenting Application

Today children are so advanced with the technology; they amaze us with their smartness and quickness. First, technological conditions have changed dramatically influencing what toddlers learn and do as they mature. Second, while adult beliefs about children and child-rearing have changed over time, certain basic ideas continue to exert a powerful influence.
These enduring beliefs have contributed to the myth of children today being different. Technology conditions the brain to pay attention to information very differently than reading. Video games and other screen media improve visual-spatial capabilities, increase attention ability, reaction times, and the capacity to identify details among clutter
What does all this mean for raising your children? The bottom line is that too much screen time and not enough other activities, such as reading, playing games, and good old unstructured and imaginative play, will result in your children having their brains wired in ways that may make them less, not more, prepared to thrive in this crazy new world of technology.
Being father of two has made me realize the differences between my generation then and the generation now.  We played cricket in the actual field while my 6 year old son plays in his precious PC.  While he was playing games online, I noticed awkward message popping up with adult content! This was not at all appropriate for his age and it could have been a bad influence until E-Kavach came to my rescue and secured my internet.
I got to know about E-Kavach from a blog I follow Ritika Kapoor. I came to know that it has so many features in one package that one can’t resist signing up and making sure that their children’s future is in secure hands. The first thing I did after reading the blog is to go to E-Kavach website (http://www.yourekavach.com/) and look into the specialties offered. While going through the website, I was amazed by the detail oriented approach they had taken to build this platform. The features included Intelligent Web Filtering for block specific web categories, sites, in appropriate content, set appropriate time limits with time granularity, Application Management to know block specific web categories, sites, in appropriate content, set appropriate time limits, Access Control to use and easy to configure controls to customize each child’s internet experience, Real-time alerts to monitor online activities of the children real time all the time, Smart phone Notifications & Dashboard which will send real time notifications to your phone the moment any boundaries set by you have been breached by your child, Multi user and flexible family definition to monitor all your children by flexible family definition and Safe Search which ensures that when your children are searching for anything online, the results they get are appropriate and do not contain any adult, profane or objectionable materials.
As I am writing this blog, my son is playing online cricket and is not being bothered by any of nuisance. Thank You E-Kavach, You have really made me and many other parents proud by taking an immense responsibility off our shoulders.
