"ARE YOU HUNGRY? WANT DELICIOUS FOOD – COME TO KFC AND EXPERIENCE MAGIC!!"
Whenever I think about yummy food, KFC or Kentucky Fried Chicken comes to my mind automatically. The leader of western food revolution in India is undoubtedly KFC and it has maintained its top spot for 20 years in row since June 1995 after opening its first store in Bangalore – My Hometown. Since then, I have visited almost all centers of KFC and I can guarantee you, each and every store maintain finger licking food!!
KFC has around 345 restaurants in more than 80 cities in India. I always had an inquisitive mind of how they are maintaining the same lip smacking taste all over the country. My curiosity about this was always increasing till I got an invite from KFC to visit their store as part of their KFC Kitchen Tour event - #KFCKitchenTours.
I was on top of my toes to enter the kitchen and have a mind boggling experience. This event obviously showcases the entire nation that people from KFC believe in their food and kitchen. This is a foolproof concept from KFC to unveil what actually happens where all the action takes place. The idea to expose their kitchen to public truly makes them the customer focused and awesome food joint.
As and when I entered the store, the affable staff greeted me and welcomed me into their kitchen. The kitchen was maintained spec and span, the chefs were well dressed with chef apron and hat. I noticed that it was divided into different section showing KFC’s procedural and well-defined approach.
Next, I was introduced to a surprise factor. Generally Veg and Non-Veg offerings will always be cooked in same section of the kitchen but KFC maintained two different sections including different oil, utensils, and ingredients to prepare veg and non-veg recipes. This seriously enhances their value for sentiments and beliefs of vegetarian customers.
When I visited Non-Veg section, I noticed that Chicken was cooked at temperature scale of 170 degree Celsius and the cooked chickens were maintained at 60 degree Celsius. All the kitchen staff were washing their and sanitizing their hand every 30 minutes showcasing KFC staff’s importance to cleanliness.
The Chef will hand bread the chicken in fresh flour then put it in the fryer or the oven within 2 minutes to make sure the chicken is as fresh possible. The shelf life of chicken was also maintained as to be fresh as possible which I think is one of their classic yet open source secret to the freshness of their food.
I came to know that KFC also has a taste monitor team goes around the entire restaurant ensuring all the customers experience the real, fresh food and to take customer feedback. They immediately replace the product if customers feel if anything is missing.
During the tour, I was introduced to some awesome facts about KFC:
• It is said that if we were to take all the chicken eaten at KFC worldwide it can actually circle the earth 11 times around the equator.
"PROOF THAT THEIR KITCHEN IS IN FACT FINGER LICKING’ GOOD!!"
• All chickens are 100% real, farm-bred chicken.
• Right from their suppliers’ farms to customer’s plate, each piece of chicken goes through about 34 checks before you take that bite. Really, WOW!!
KFC really loves what they do and whatever they do, they do it in the best way. The proof of this would be that they import Choco Divine all the way from Ghana, Spices from Kerala. While preparing alphonso crushers, instead of using flavors, they use authentic imported Alphonso mangoes. Their suppliers are authentic and most reputed in the country which involves the biggest names in chicken industries such as Venky’s Godrej and Suguna.
KFC Indian stores have been innovating to offer the best and the unmatched varieties to their customers, keeping in mind the palate of Indians. Among everything, they do not forget offer their original KFC taste. Some of our India-specific innovations are the Paneer Zinger, Veg Twister, Veg Rockin’ Burger, Potato Krisper, Veg Strips and Veg Rice Bowl.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed each and every moment of KFC Kitchen. My recommendation for anyone who is hungry and who wants to enjoy fingerlickin’ taste will always be to visit KFC and experience magic!!
